PDF to text FAQ
What to expect when you upload a document and copy the results.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Open Studio runs in your browser. Upload a PDF and review the text there. You may need to sign in depending on account setup.
What kinds of documents work?
PDFs with typed text, scans, and many mixed layouts work well. Very faint scans, unusual fonts, or heavy markup can produce gaps. Always spot-check important details.
Will the layout match the original PDF exactly?
Not always. You get readable text, but columns, tables, and design-heavy pages may not line up the same way. Compare against the source when layout matters.
Can I convert a full document?
Yes. Open Studio processes whole files, not single snippets. Very long files may take longer.
How much is included for free?
New accounts get $10 in credits at signup, about 10,000 pages at $1/1,000 for reading documents. Check current pricing in Open Studio if you process large volumes.
Can I paste the text into another editor?
Yes. Copy from the results and paste into Word, Google Docs, email, or any text editor.
